hi boz!
I'm interested with your experience with GC and tenergy months back (i saw your post about it and decided to join the forum today so i can ask you), not sure if this is still your set-up though. I currently have Grubba carbon with Sriver/Sriver-EL. I liked it a lot although i find the ball speed a little slow to my liking. I'm thinking of changing the rubbers to Tenergy 05. I just wanted to check if this will really increase the speed compared to current srivers. To me right now the control game is very good and decided to get this set-up to my level (beginner to intermediate) but i do feel some vibrations on the blade, i think i want lesser vibrations and more speed.
Looking forward to your reply!

Welcome Rex and speed vibration
I still own a Grubba Carbon in perfect condition and am going to sell it.
I loved the low weight, thinness and hardness of that blade, very unique.
I believe that tenergy will make the blade fast for sure, but I still believe tenergy plays better on a more solid blade (tends to always be thicker and heavier)
Everyone knows most people choose the timo boll spirit but I am still to in love with the perfection of the butterfly ishlion. To me that would be a big big step up from the grubba carbon. They are very related cousins in their hardness and lightness but ishlion packs punch. The grubba still bugged me when I had the higher easier no brainer finish shots, the ishlion rarely disappoints, but if you want pure belting power that you can smash punch through anything I suggest the Schlager Carbon.
Schlager uses it with Tenergy 05

I think i underestimated my skills and played it safe when i went with the grubba carbon and sriver. I tried my friend's Mazunov with Bryce/SriverFX and i found it too fast, my shots were mostly long but i think had the fastest drives i've experienced (had to close the blade when i swing) but had more errors, not to mention that set-up was heavy. Since budget would be a concern, i may just try the tenergy on grubba when i have the extra cash and see how it goes. I would love to try Timo Boll Spirit as i've read very good reviews on it. Thanks for the quick reply.
regular bryce is infamous for going long
It goes long because it is faster than it is spinny. You need spin in my opinion to play faster more often.

grubba carbon sriver
putting butterfly's sriver on a grubba carbon blade would be perfect. I have tried this.
But I think low weight table tennis rubbers will suit light weight blades better overall.
ping pong soft or hard carbon blades
If you are looking at ping pong then you can use any old piece of wood, but when you take the game as a sport then table tennis soft or hard carbon blades are very nice equipment to try out. Too hard means great for smash but nothing else, the grubba is a slower softer more flexible carbon blade still good for all parts of the game.
